“My first large mural was painted at age 5, and my most recent is for City of Ithaca. I imagine the paintings prior. I also could see or photograph things and then I re-imagine them. Klimt, Mondrian and Pollock inspire me.
I am a Real Estate Broker by day and look at tax maps and aerial property photos, which you may see in my work. I combine aspects of pointillism, abstraction, impressionism, and controlled drip art using one or more, sometimes all techniques in the same piece.
In my mind I design with Bauhaus intent… then Gustav takes over, and sometimes Jackson visits. In the end, Mondrian is not seen in the work except in the initial planning. I tend to paint on recycled and reclaimed plywood. I sometimes use new cabinet-grade wood and I’ll also use found driftwood. My paint box includes acrylic, metallic, oil, and automotive paint.”
